On a related note....

I once heard someone on the radio say that it is virtually impossible for a person to eat a completely vegan diet and still be healthy. I'm not sure my source on that or whether it's true, though... can anybody confirm or deny it?

On the same subject, I read this really interesting article in the New York Times a few months ago. It's about how vegan parents have accidentally killed their infants by not feeding them cow's milk, or by nursing them when the mother is eating a vegan diet.

Sure you can. I was a vegan for about three years in high school, part of a whole vegan straightedge phase.

I don't know what you do now, but you have to actually cook and watch your diet to make it work, you can't just eat cereal and pasta (most of which has whey, egg albumen, that dye made up of ground bugs or other milk products anyway).

Actually, the prosecution proved the parents to be negligent by showing that a vegan diet is healthy for all stages of life. They proved that neglect and ignorance, not veganism, was the cause of death.

Furthermore, keep in mind that Ms. Plank is not a nutritionist. The piece in question is incredibly erroneous.
